personality; beyla is mostly quiet, and without the violent streak that her occupation and upbringing imply. she maintains that the only reason she grew up to be a warrior was necessity, and would much prefer having been safe at home, married with a house full of kids at this point in her life. as it is, beyla has a short temper but has managed to keep it under lock and key most times, though she is still prone to outbursts. she's understandably protective of her sister, katla, and is fiercely loyal to her. this translates well to her work as a mercenary, because in battle she will die for her brethren. she doesn't make friends easily, but those she finds, she holds fast.
history; beyla grew up on a quiet homestead, prosperous before the death of the king and the return of the dragons. beyla was young when these events occured, so she remembers little of life before that isn't warm stories told by her mother. for a time, she and her family got by; with her father, mother, three elder brothers, their wives, and both uncles working, they managed to scrape together enough food and beyla never knew they wanted for anything. until the imperial legion entered town, and changed everything.

while her family supported neither side, the fact that they are nords was enough for the imperials to sack their house. they killed her father, brothers and uncles, and took her female relatives; she never saw them again. beyla and katla had been hidden in a cupboard when their house was raided, and they witnessed everything.

in the dead of winter, and without any skills as a twelve year old, beyla struggled to support both her and her sister. she fought, stole and scavenged, eventually affording a bow; this is where she managed to bring in food and much-needed money for her and her sister. they scraped by, even though it wasn't easy.

beyla made a name for herself in the small northern villages, and by 18 was often called upon to deal with bandits and rogue animals. it was on a trip such as this she met the companions, and soon after, the first dragon. fighting alongside the strange warriors, beyla helped to bring down the great beast, and earned herself a spot with the guild. she eagerly went, on the assurance that katla could join at any time, and would receive all of her earnings.

four years later, and beyla is still happily with the companions, she joined the stormcloaks along the way, and does what she can for them as well. traveling skyrim and helping where she can, beyla is at peace.

appearance;[\b] beyla isn't the largest of nords, and is in fact rather slight, standing at only 5 feet, 5 inches. this is due to growing up in an impoverished village far to the north; any food she didn't need to simply survive went to her little sister, and as such, beyla was always hungry. even with enough food now, her growth was impacted. even small and thin, she cuts an impressive figure with dark eyes and hair, and appropriately pale skin, for living in a place so far to the north of even skyrim. she has thick, long nearly-black hair streaked with white paint, which she wears loose into battle. her face is marked with heavy, dark stripes around her eyes and bright blue slashes across her cheeks=, chin, and framing her left eye.
